Typhoon Durian hits Vietnam Coastline, Slams Phillipines
In Hanoi, Vietnam, at least 50 people died after Typhoon Durian slammed into Vietnam's southern coast. The National Weather Center said the storm was only packing winds of 73 MPH when it hit the southern provinces of Ben Tre and Tra Vinh on Tuesday morning. While the storm was not devastating, it did damage over 1,000 homes and sank more than 800 fishing boats. The storm is expected to continue to weaken as it moves into the Gulf of Thailand Wednesday.
