Cold now.. Warmer weather on the way
Yes, It's December alright and with holidays right around the corner, one ought to think of cold, snow and wind. This week will be chilly, but some moderation is in the forecast.
We will look for another major pattern change next week. Forecast models show the jet stream splitting into two branches. The northern branch will retreat northward into eastern Canada, which will send the arctic air out and open the door to milder air across the eastern two-thirds of the nation. The southern branch of the jet stream will become increasingly moist, leading to a couple of storms tracking into the southern United States. How mild you may ask? Temps are looking at rebounding near 60 by the 18th. Don't get ready for winter just yet!
